Chairman of The Board

Chairman of The Board – Mr. Hellman joined our Board of Directors in July 2019. Mr. Hellman was the founder of Advanced Lighting Technologies Inc., a global specialty lighting and technology company and served as its Chief Executive Officer since the company’s inception in 1983. Mr. Hellman was instrumental in the growth the company from $900,000 in 1983 to well over $250 million. Mr. Hellman conducted an IPO in 1995, three secondary offerings raising $150 million and a high-yield debt offering of $100 million. During this time, he also made seven acquisitions and four manufacturing joint ventures in the Asian Pacific market. In 2003, he took the company private, which it remains today. Manufacturing locations are Germany, U.S. India, and China with 70% of sales outside the U.S. Mr. Hellman retired from Advanced Lighting Technologies in 2013 and currently serves as its Chairman Emeritus. Prior to Advanced Lighting, Mr. Hellman worked at General Electric for 16 years; the last four years of which he was one of the venture managers reporting to GE Chairman Jack Welch. Mr. Hellman is a member of the Board of Directors of First Wave Technologies Inc., a Medical Technology Incubator, Managing Partner of Hellman New Ventures LLC., and is a Member of the Board of Directors

Mr. Ganzhorn is a 35-year successful serial entrepreneur who possesses strategic vision and impeccable timing leading turnaround situations from bankruptcy to $500,000,000 contracts. Mr. Ganhzorn founded and built several capital equipment companies (notably Mustang Dynamometer and Mustang Vacuum Systems) and developed recurring revenue services divisions supplying automotive, performance racing, medical devices, and the Department of Defense through Prime Contractors. Mr. Ganzhorn is currently leading Gannet Technologies, a subsidiary in the vacuum deposition technology which enables the critical stealth technology for the largest platform the DOD has initiated, the F-35. This new high-tech platform will be used for all future systems.
Dr. Stanton D. Sloane

Dr. Sloane is a 30+ year veteran of the Aerospace & Defense business. In August 2023, Dr. Sloane was appointed to serve as an Independent Director of CIC International (NYSE: CACI). He began his career with General Electric Aerospace (subsequently Martin Marietta and Lockheed Martin) in 1984 serving in a variety of roles including engineering, program management and business development. His last position at Lockheed Martin was as Executive Vice President, Integrated Systems and Solutions, one of the major divisions of the company. He has also served as CEO of SRA International, Decision Sciences International, Comtech Telecommunications and Frequency Electronics, including positions as President, CEO and Director of three publicly traded companies. Dr. Sloane holds a bachelor’s degree in Professional Studies (Aeronautics) from Barry University, a master’s degree in Human Resources Management from Pepperdine University, and a Doctor of Management degree from the Weatherhead Business School at Case Western Reserve University. He also holds Airline Transport Pilot and Flight Instructor licenses.

Founder / Chief Executive Officer

Gerald T. Mearini, PhD – Chief Executive Officer and Founder – Dr. Mearini received a Ph.D. in experimental physics in 1991 from Case Western Reserve University (CWRU). He pioneered chemical vapor deposited (CVD) diamond-based vacuum electronic devices with James Dayton at NASA Lewis from 1992-95. In 1995 He founded GENVAC Aerospace, Inc., the predecessor of Teraphysics/ mmLink which designs and manufactures electro-optical filters for night-vision and infrared applications in military optics. He is the inventor on 16 patents involving CVD diamond, diamond-based devices and thin film technology. He has numerous publications and is both an Adjunct Professor of Physics and the Chairman of the Engineering-Physics Advisory Committee at CWRU.

Chief Technology Officer

Dr. Toncich has over 20 years’ experience in the high volume commercial wireless communications industry, and he is currently the Principal RF Systems Engineer for Cubic Corporation. Dr. Toncich has extensive experience leading product development and engineering teams including, over 20 years as Senior Staff Engineer and Corporate Research and Development at Qualcomm, the Principal Engineer, Advanced Technology Development Group at QCPI-Kyocera Wireless Inc., (Qualcomm-Kyocera handset agreement). Dr. Toncich possesses technical skills including LTE, 5g, MIMO, LNA/PA design experience, CAD tools, Matlab, Eagleware, ADS and he Developed an industry-first, simple, accurate Quality (Q) factor measurement technique. Dr. Toncich holds 65 issued patents, has 25 additional patents under review and has 19 referred publications in international journals. Mr. Toncich was a former National Research Council Fellow at NASA Lewis (Glenn) Research Center in Cleveland OH. Mr. Toncich holds a B.S Electrical Engineering, M.S Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics and A PhD Electrical Engineering and Applied Physics at Case Western Reserve University.
Marc S. Lubow

Mr. Lubow joined Teraphysics in 2018. Mr. Lubow brings us valuable public market expertise, having over 25 years’ experience in business development, strategic alliances and partnerships, corporate communications, investor relations, investment banking, corporate finance, capital markets, transaction negotiation and execution. In 2004, he formed The Lubow Group, a Florida based advisory firm and since its inception he has served in either a consultant or executive officer capacity for numerous private and public sector companies providing counsel, intellectual capital, Board of Director candidate introductions, business development activities, investor relation activities, creation of business plans and financial models, investment banking and institutional investor introductions and potential strategic partner introductions. From Jan 2016 – July 2019, Mr. Lubow serviced as Executive Vice President of CVR Medical From March 2011 until August 2014, Mr. Lubow was the Executive Vice President at Li3 Energy Inc. Prior to that, from 1992 through 2004, Mr. Lubow was a Vice President and Associate Partner with a privately held boutique investment banking firm, providing clients with various sophisticated financial products and services. Mr. Lubow is a decorated Veteran and Non-Commissioned Officer, Paratrooper and Air Traffic Controller of the U.S. Army and attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University.
